Tyres for my M151A2

Post by Snark » Fri Dec 01, 2006 8:57 am

I had on my car still after whole year original tyres. Off course it was pity to destroy them during ussual traffic so i started to look after some new ones. I could not believe that it is such a problem in europe. 7,00x16 is so unussual size that measures of some tyres in europe differs up to 75 mm in diameter from my original Good Year Military OZ.

After terrible odyssey i bought Black Star 205/70 rethreaded - costed round 2800 CZK - that is cca 130 USD each and have to report excellent increase in off road abilities.

Those are good looking tires on a good looking MUTT! Welcome aboard the G. I've always liked the looks of the A2. More so when they're stripped of canvas and the windshield's folded.

I agree with Buggy Man....Good looking tires on a great looking MUTT. 8) Are you using tubes in the tires?

All Most Passable 4 Military Tires

Snark

Those tires look real good and but I have issues with recaps. Now if they do this tread design in a complete tire I might consider a set for tooling around in but would also keep the Original Military tread design for shows, parades and ect sence they are hard to come by over there. Need to get extra set of rims if you don't have to make switching them out easier.

Buggy Man - we call it "skateboard" when nothing sticks out/up.

picture: summer party with muttbunch - cleaning cooler

Ralph Fuller - thanks for appreciation :D good question - i have though it much - these tyres are marked as tubeless and i left it so - but i would not mind to place a tube in case of need - have to confess that i noticed sometimes a little press leaking during the season (cca 7000 m).

Baios - yes - these tread pattern seems to be popular all over the world - they make it also at Black Star - they call it Caman

or in Czech Republic - Pneu Vranik (hehe - means Black Horse Tyres :D)

are you from Greece??? We were thinking about going to Greece by Autotrain with Mutts to travel there - how is it going with freeriding there???

my friend´s M151A2 ROPS with similar treaded tyres

Iten - regarding set of original tyres with rims for shows - thats exactly what i did :D

Thanks a lot for positive responses
good luck

In Italy it's quite easy to find. I'll post you some links (but I don't know if they shipped in Greece :? ).
