GMC and Chevy wrench #s ?

Post by Marty, SoCal » Thu Jul 28, 2005 3:06 pm

Does anyone have the wrench numbers for the 2 1/2t GMC and 1 1/2 t Chevy WW2 truck tool kits? Any particular brand that is best? Anything on the bigger trucks or tanks?

I've found a listing for the Dodges, but nothing here for the bigger trucks!
I'm curious because we can keep an eye out for them for use as trading material!

Thanks in advance!

Wrench numbers

Marty,

TM 9-801. 2.5 Ton 6x6 GMC. Page 20 lists the five wrenches as 41-W-991.(3/8" x 7/16"), 41-W-1003 (1/2" x 19/32"), 41-W-1005-5 ( 9/16" x 11/16"), 41-W-1008-10 ( 5/8" x 25/32") and 41-W-1012-5 ( 3/4" x 7/8") which as you know are the same as issued in the jeep tool kit......... there are then another 7 pages of gadgets and goodies for the avid tool collector.
I have TM-10-1341 Maintenance Manual for the Chevrolet 1.5 ton truck but this has no tool list in it.
For brand names, I guess you can take your pick.

Derek.

Pre-'45 Chevy G7100 series (1.5T) Ord 9 SNL lists the following (extracts):

Wrench Set (25, 27C, 28S, 723): FairmounT

Wrench 4731-C (7/8x3/4): Bridgeport Hardware

Wrench, 11" Auto: FairmounT 893 (I believe the handle can be contoured)

Wrench, 8" Crescent: Vlchek

Pliers, Slip Joint 6": Vlchek

Screwdriver, 6" Shank Through Handle: Irwin

Screwdriver, Clutch Head (x3): Bridgeport Hardware

As you can see, accumulating this set is certainly no easier than an MB set!

Kind of strange that the 731 was not a Fairmount as the others...

Luca: Tell me about it! Ever try finding a Bridgeport Hardware 7/8x3/4...???!!! The FairmounT version is easy by comparison.

Marty: I think the ORD 9 Supply Catalogs are a start. Surely SOMEBODY out there in G-Land has them????

(In need of a Bridgeport 7/8x3/4 in AZ...)
