(Off market) Set of 5 used 900-16 NDT - what interest?

Post by wc56daveyboy » Sun Feb 10, 2019 1:57 pm

i think I'll just keep these for now.

I'll change the ad should I feel they need to go

Thanks all for looking

Is there any interest in used tires in extremely good shape and lots of tread left?

I read a lot of guys trying to get by with worn out, cracked tires that are age hardened due to the cost of new tires.

I got a set of really good 900-16 tires already mounted and balanced I'm thinking that I may sell once my 750-16 tires arrive

im thinking that a nice set of 5 wheels / tires, 75% or better tread tires (spare never used) gotta be worth $1000 to somebody?

brand new 900-16 tires are running close to 300 these days each (summit racing - 287 w/ free shipping)

Adding it up:
NEW 900/16 NDT's would cost $287 each.
287 x 5 =$1435
tubes and flaps ( 25 per tube/ 15 per flap)
40 x 5 = $200)

And buyer gets the wheels too.
I just paid 40-60 per wheel for the 1/2 ton
Thats another 250 averaged out

mounted and balanced probably $100
Maybe more.

To buy all NEW TIRES these days, tubes flaps mount and balance 5 tires with wheels you gotta be looking at an easy $1700-$1800

Wheels end up being free

$1000 sounds pretty good after adding that all up

Granted, these are not new. But they are in very good shape. I use them now without any issues.
They are not beat up or worn with at least 75% or better tread. No sidewall damage, chunks missing or tears or abrasions

I'm only replacing larger NON stock tires for a WC 1/2 ton with the proper sizer 750-16 NDT

Are they on 1/2 ton wheels?

Can you post some photos?

Thanks.

Yes. they are on 1/2 ton rims..

first pics show the spare tire.. brand new, never on the road. still has the molding nubs.
also note the close up showing the depth of the tread. these ARE difficult to measure due to the interior rounded radii in the bottom, but as I lay a straight edge across two lugs, and another metal straight edge down, you can see the measurement..

This is the depth of a NEW tire.

measuring around the other tires on the truck, the measurements as you see. it appears as if there is about 1/8" of wear on the tires

various pics around the truck taken here.

I noticed as I was cleaning these to take pictures, that the front left tire has a few very small bits of rubber broken away at a few of the lugs.

very small as I say.. you can see in one of the photos attached.. the only damage I can see. no sidewall damage anywhere I can see, and all hold air and never leak.

here is the sidewall logo as these are DENMAN tires.

age? not sure.. I have owned the truck 4 years and they came on it with little to no road time as the owner put them on, and parked the truck to return to Afganistan for another tour. I bought this with the tires he bought and put on the truck
