Hi everybody !!
I'm David, 31 years old. I collect military vehicles since 2009.
I'm located in France, exactly in the East, in Alsace.
My first vehicle was this 1943 MB Serial 234177 DoD 5-12-43 found in France, not far from Luxembourg in May 2009.
Original Standart Body, Just a WOF engine fit by a farmer in the 60's
And a lot of GPW parts......

As Found

The 1st restoration between 2009 and 2013

Actually, i've completely dismantled the jeep for a complete restoration..... Remove new made parts for original only...

My question, is there a list for correct parts for May 1943 MB ???
For example, Is it correct to have a big round propeller shaft on the rear axle :?: :?: :?: Type of bolt marking , EC, A, AA, cTR, etc.... :?: :?:

Thanks !!!!!

Hi David,

In my opinion you could try to find the booklet written by Lawrence Nabholtz "The military jeep".

In this booklet are traced all the changes occured during the willys mb production (1941 to 1945).

I suggest you to find the revised version (in the cover there is a slat grill crossing a river on a pontoon bridge).

Hoping this may help you.

Kindest Regards

Luigi

Nice find David, as Luigi says you wont go wrong with the Nabholtz book, its spot on.(yes i have the revised version). Another book you would benefit from is called JEEP, by Emile Becker, this is done in English and French dialogue. :D

I think the 2 books by John Farley give a huge amount of information, backed up by detailled photo's.
There is the odd mistake and a few typos of course, but show me a book which is perfect.

Hi David
The Jeep Willys MB serial # 234017 had a hood number 20324490. (May, 13th 1943)
That would give a hood number 20324650 for your MB. (or a close number)
