Re: WILLYS engine Government Fire pump
Willys built these "script" fire pumps during WW II for the Office of Civil Defense (OCD). It was called a MB-OCD, as shown on the data tag. Its a neat piece of history!

Re: WILLYS engine Government Fire pump
These portable fire pumps were ordered by, and built by Willys for, the U. S. Government Office of Civilian Defense (OCD). Here are two other view of the fire pump and the front cover of its manual 6044-F, which I recently acquired at the MVPA's 2012 Convention in Huntsville, Alabama. The upper photo shows the mild streamlining provided by the top and side covers. It's great to know at least one of these fire pumps have survived. Enjoy!

Re: WILLYS engine Government Fire pump
First one I've seen. somebody bought it, I didn't. Hope they keep it as a pump. It was 3000 miles away from me. Maybe one will show up on the east coast. Nice book, thats probably as rare as the pump.

Re: WILLYS engine Government Fire pump
Wow, a wartime motor AND a perfect Willys script donor panel for under $900!
It's probably super rare in its current form, but only appealing to a limited crowd. Most every slat grill owner and a large slice of our population need motors. I see more value and less work to "part" this one out.
Hope it gets saved as a fire pump. I could sure see the utility of it on a duck hunting set up!
