pretty neat!
could you explain or provide a link
to what this is?
thanks
dave
sure...
the
thing is a
Cushman scooter, exactly a
Package Delivery model 39G.
built from a civilian project, this model - and here is the most exciting

- was released to US Army and to USAAF in only 606 units, just 300 built in '44, my model's production year.
it was used for
deliveries.
due to a limited power - only 4hp provided by a single cylinder 15 cu.in. engine, 4 strokes - was best accustomed over levelled hard surfaces in the airports, to bring tools and spare parts to the flight line .
420lb net weight, but a noticeable 425lb payload...
these particular scooter is in
conserved conditions. almost incredible if related to other vehicles. original OD paint, factory (
blue drab) usa numbers, original data plate, paper lube chart under the seat, original engine data plate and even an original post-wwII Fort knox 1946 plate...
as far as I know, only another one exists in Europe, in Holland brought from the States...
this one flew from JFK.
ciao
