the usa number on the data plate is the usa number of the vehicle. there's no frame number on those Converto's.
you have a trailer, a USA number on the data plate, and a USA number on the title.
if your data plate is correct to the trailer (original riveting), the number on the title might be a VIN assigned by your local DOT...in Italy, jeeps left behind and that worked for Army and Police corps until late '50ies were assigned, when released to civilians, a VIN that
sometime was the very same frame number (Willys' or Ford 's), and
sometime a brand new number assigned by DOT.
you have only "
454348" on your title, or "
USA 454348"?? ...maybe a former owner painted this number instead... who knows?
Really neat finding out that the brother to this one trailer I have is still out there - and better yet, is all the
way over in Italy! From the looks of the list compiled they are the only two side by side ones left in the
world that are known to be around today....
