Plastically Anything Retrospective

Post by mdeevl » Sat May 02, 2009 11:40 am

Back in the early to mid 1990's, before the advent of mass produced 1:6th scale vehicles, a small company called Plastically Anything (previously Cohoon Plastics) filled the void for 12" Action Figure collectors.

These vehicles were made of vacu-formed plastic, and what they lacked in detail (or accuracy), they made up for with sheer size. I recently received a request to 'showcase' vehicles from my Plastically Anything orphanage. I don't have pictures of them all yet, but here are a few to start:

Sdkfz 251D converted to a 251/22 version with a 21st c. Toys Pak.

Tiger and a Sturmtiger Prototype.

Sherman . . . boy I really gotta reinforce those poor wheel trucks! image

Elephant prototype after repaint.

Panther after winter repaint.
Image

Jagdpanther prototype. Maybe one day I'll do something with that G-d awful gun mantlet !
Image

Stug III with skirts and fresh paint added.
Image

Stug IV-G (kinda) with skirts (These are all removable), zimmerit and a repaint added.
Image

T-34 with fuel drums added.

SU-122

Remember, the crew members are each 11 to 12 inches tall!
. . . more to come!

Hope you enjoyed the retrospective on some of last century's 1:6 vehicles

Interesting. And they are no longer available in the market correct? They must cost a lot by now. Thanks for sharing! :D

Fresh from UPS, here is the latest addition to my Plastically Anything orphanage. It is an M4A3 to go with my older PA M4 with 105 Howitzer!
I added the headlight guards and installed all the tools with scratch built brackets. I also needed to reposition the nose a bit, as the factory had it installed at the wrong angle.

I still need to straighten that bottom edge.

Here are a couple of side-by-side shots. The 105 still has its PA tracks. I like the look of the DeSimone Tracks though!

Here are some sneak peeks at two other PA vehicles under renovation. A sdkfz 251D and an early Stug III ! Can ya spot any other treasures in the 'garage pics'?

Thanks for looking at my continuing efforts in 1:6th Archeology!
