The following German manufacturers are known, together with the years (as far as known by me) they made them:

LIST UPDATED NOV. 04 2003

abp
Austria Email (1944)
Austria Wien
(these 2 might be the same company?)
Brose & Co
cbn
das
dwc (1941)
ehb
fcx (1944)
miag (1943)
mns
Nirona
Nowack Bautzen
R+F Fischer

Schwelmer Eisenwerke (1939)
wko

If you have a WW2 dated can made by a German company that is not on the list please add it in a reply to this message.

Ich haben ein "dwc" gestampen unt der "41" gestamped gastanken can!

Ach zo, Luca, is there a difference between the DWC and the dwc marked cans Mien Kamerad?

I have one on the back of the '42 GPW and it is really easy to find in a row of jeeps as mine is a light Feldgrau (actually just some light grey primer I found). the 4/24/42 has a Field Installed properly marked "B 42....." mount on it so I figured the German can would be a nice touch for it.

I assume your post of "DWC" was meant to be "dwc" anyway, ja?

Chuck I don't speak German,(if you do not count Wasser,zimmer frei,einspritzpumpe,ersatzteile,gesellschaft,and a few others..) :)
Actually David is the one for German and British Cans, and I am quite happy if more knowledge on this marginal, but nevertheless fascinating side of the hobby, surfaces for all those intersted in sharing it.

I can add another one myself: FCX. this may be a very rare example, since it is dated 1944 and lacks the "Wehrmacht" stamping.

German can

I have one dated 1942. The maker mark is a triangle with what looks like the letters LSA intertwined. "Wehrmacht" marked, also.

Robin, can you send me a pic of that manufacturers' stamp? One of the others also had a triangular shaped mark, so it could be the same before posting it as another manufacturer.

I found a Jerry can at a flea market in Germany, it was marked Sandrik, also had the SS runes in the middle. Alas, I sold it long ago.
