Need help identifying this small part

Post by RevWarGuy » Mon Feb 02, 2026 10:49 am

Yesterday I found this small part, like a relief fitting, on the floor under my engine. I have just finished putting the front cover plate/timing cover mounting plate, timing gear, etc. and timing cover back on. After cleaning the oil filter housing and reattaching the lines, I found this little part on the floor. Help please.

Welcome aboard!

That is a press in oiler for the distributor shaft or generator bushing.

Thank you. I'll see if I can figure out which.

You are very welcome. With the right angle to it I'd say distributor.

At about 10:00, "oil cup".

Awesome, thanks! That was it. Knocked it out with the chain I lifted the engine out with.
