FS: Complete WW2-spec GMTK (ex-Wingnutt) $900
Here's a very nice, correct component WW2 General Mechanics Tool Kit for your consideration...
I bought this GMTK from Greg H. ("Wingnutt" here on G503) back in 2015. I wanted one-stop-shopping from a Tool Guru (= Greg)... had the money... and pulled the trigger. I have not changed it since. I can appreciate the "hunt" for tools, but geography, logistics, expense (postage and/or fuel) and TIME to build a correct GMTK can be a strain. Some of the tools in this set I've never seen here (SE AZ) on the "loose", for example. Box is WW2 Ham. Met. Prod, with WW2 part number naturally.
I could not find the 2015 post for this GMTK (assuming it had one, I may have spoken to Greg off-board?) so my apologies for no detailed write-up.
Price is $900 plus postage -- exactly what I paid TEN years ago. It weighs ~ 55 lbs (without packaging). I can offer free delivery to the upcoming 2026 Louisville, KY Show of Shows (late January in 2026) or the Buckeye, AZ (West Phoenix) Air/MV show in mid-February, 2026 IF PREPAID. Please PM direct if interested or if you have questions. I will be out of town 12/23/25 to 01/03/26 but will have access to G503.
Thanks for looking!

Dang! You're going to make me cry tears of nostalgic joy, Jeff! Nice?! NICE?! That's one of the nicest kits I have ever put together (and, less humbly, one of the nicest I have ever seen...). Heck, I may buy it back it's such a good kit.
That was my "Take Home" Living History Display kit! I have no idea why I am helping you sell it when I have a partial (~60%) kit for sale myself (AZ Jeff wrote:I could not find the 2015 post for this GMTK (assuming it had one, I may have spoken to Greg off-board?) so my apologies for no detailed write-up.
Of the many, many uncommon, outstanding features, I would highlight a bunch of impeccably correct hacksaw blades, tool brush with the Federal Spec number stamped on it, the "U.S. ARMY" knife, the matching Williams long pattern DBEs, the matching BONALOY short pattern DBEs (neither of which are easy to do!), the Duro Circle-DC DOE set, and the Snappy midget set, 1944, with a very rare 1943 dated ratchet. And that's just off the top of my head from memory!
It's this factor that makes $9 per tool ($900 / ~100) such a ridiculous price. Frankly, $9 per tool would be ridiculous if you were just walking into a store and pulling them off a shelf. FINDING them is the hard part! When people frown or question the prices of my GMTK's, I don't even blink: "Good luck!"AZ Jeff wrote:...TIME to build a correct GMTK can be a strain.

Apologies for the old Photof#$ket photos! If I make some time later, I think I have some originals on a drive.
Also, I can't believe I didn't mention the 1/2-drive set was also Snap-on, matching the 1/4-drive set. Also not the most common approach to the heart of the GMTK.
