5/16-24-3/4 hex screw F Script
I'm after one of the above bolts. My GPW is missing just one of these (only just noticed it last night). It is the bolt that holds the oil filter band to the bracket.
Does anyone out there have just one (I could order a set if necessary).
I'm guessing postage would be a lot for one bolt from the USA to NZ, so maybe someone in Australia? Or even NZ?

Yep, I thought shipping would be expensive from the USA

Ok, it turns out I actually need two of these.
And I am not sure why the bolt needs to be pointed, as a standard 5/16 UNF screw works fine.

Because Ford used semi-pointed bolts in most applications that didn't require a separate nut, to speed up assembly time.

Well, since you are asking for a ford bolt, might as well get the correct one, you building a factory restoration? going to get it judged, or just for peace of mind? but then if it does not matter put any old bolt in there, bevel the tip, repop work? take a toothpick and scribble a f on its head with some jb weld. Or bite the bullet and spend the post and $10 bucks for 2 bolts. Now how many gpw's and mb's are in australia? GP's? i know of 1

I purchased a restored jeep last October. Unfortunately, it is a repro tub but it is a pretty good restoration aside from a few incorrect things, and a couple of mechanical cockups that I have had to resolve (the mechanic must have come straight from the rodeo).Adam wrote: ↑Sat Jan 17, 2026 7:38 amWell, since you are asking for a ford bolt, might as well get the correct one, you building a factory restoration? going to get it judged, or just for peace of mind? but then if it does not matter put any old bolt in there, bevel the tip, repop work? take a toothpick and scribble a f on its head with some jb weld. You make a good point, in that if I am looking for a Ford bolt, it may was well be correct. The mount is missing one bolt, and I realised of the other three, that only two are correct. I wont be getting it judged, and while I dont care what the jeep police think (
I'm in New Zealand. There are actually a lot of jeeps down here, with the bulk of them appearing to be mainly 1942's. To give you an idea, when I was looking for a jeep, I ended up considering five that were for sale, all of them 42's. Not long after I got mine, a '43 and another '42 came up for sale. Aside from one, the others had repro tubs. There are a few slat grills as well. I'm not sure on how many GP's there.
I've attached a couple of photos of mine.

Ok, well it turns out that apparently, they are the same bolts as the battery tray hold down bolts.
So, I have four bolts on order (handy to have spares
