Removing M38 starter for rebuild

Post by JeepdaddyRC » Wed Mar 12, 2025 2:42 pm

How do you remove the top bolt on the starter for a late 1952 M38 with the engine in the Jeep?
Do you have to remove the floor panels?
The bottom bolt is easy to see and remove. Have not figured out how to reach the top bolt. Can't figure out how to get a wrench on it.
Advice welcome.

You need a jointed socket with a long extension.
