front end tool

Post by jrlatt » Mon Oct 12, 2020 8:50 pm

Hello

I was wondering about the special tools for the font end. The cv special tools 1, 2, and 3. Are they really needed. If so does anyone know who might have some for sale.

I was wondering the same thing. They are the tools to update the hub bolt, I was wondering if the update kit is available. Do you have the update bolt kit? If so, where did you find it?

Not that I know of. I know my dad replaced one when one broke going through the woods. He had a couple of bolts custom made at a machine shop. Not sure if he had the tools or not. I have found the extra bolts in an ice cream bucket but did not see any special tool in there.

I assume you mean the bolts. I don't think so because I do not know if both sides were replaced or not. I will also need another for the other one that I have. I have seen the updated bolts for sale. I can take pictures and measurements for you in a few weeks.

I do not have specs on the bolt size. I do have what I believe was used. Mil spec 21250 bolt.

This is a link to specs on the bolt that I found online with a quick search. The bolt was cut and a new head welded on. When I get a chance I try and post some pictures.

The head was cut off and a new head welded on and grounded down.
