UK 503 ers

Post by nick peters » Tue Sep 15, 2020 12:43 am

Hello Everyone
Have any of you had /obtained/ know where. Correct shade of Blue Drab paint is available here. Getting Paint shipped in from US or across the channel can be a costly nightmare
regards Nick

Hi Nick,

Not used it personally but seems OK from a quick net search.

I just used a very light grey to do my “field” markings using Axholme stencils - I didn’t bother with the blue drab markings. I was advised “white” is too bright so my local motor factors mixed me a satin aerosol of the colour I chose.

Using the blue on a late war Gemco trailer. They would appear to have used this colour thru to end of production.

I believe the 'correct' shade is RAL 5014.

Indeed, 144 is the Humbrol code for Ral 5014. It comes in standard and matt, I have a small tin of each but didn't open them yet.
