Re: Jeep dame of the Day
Today's Jeep dame of the Day is my mother, Second Lieutenant Jane M. Coldwell, a U.S. Army nurse pictured on Leyte, Philippines, Asiatic Pacific Theater, in June 1945. She was stationed at the 133rd General Hospital and outranked my father, a Sargeant in the Tank Corps in Europe. Enjoy!

Well, I'd say "Hubba Hubba" except she's your Mom. Doubt that Jeep ever looked so good as it did that moment. Wonderful, and thanks.
Best to you, Fred. Eddie

Re: Jeep dame of the Day
Ed: Thanks for the compliment, fully taken in the spirit offered.
JAB: Yes, I'm very proud of both of my parents' service in WW II. I heard a few very brief stores during my childhood, but nothing in detail. I dedicated my first book of Willys WW II jeep ads, Selling the All-American Wonder, to my mother using the photo of her I just posted.

Cotterpin and Mark:
Thank you for appreciating the photo of my mother. She was very proud to have served as a nurse in WW II, and I'm extremely proud of her for having done so.

Re: Jeep dame of the Day
Hello,
Here is a Jeep picture I saw on Ebay, with some nurses arriving at the Penig Concentration Camp to help survivors, survive !!
It is a reprint listed on Ebay, if anyone wants to get one.
Another picture shows a tag on the front of the Jeep that says " Chief of Staff "
It was a nasty place, that housed Hungarian women according to this narrated US Signal Corps Video made at the time.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CePTOE8heHQ
Being Memorial Day was very recent, we should all also remember all the victims of the
evil forces that were running rampant in Europe throughout WW2.
So many were lost,it is hard to comprehend how bad things were for the unarmed civilian
populations around the world that suffered at the hands of our then enemies.
Never forget them and all of our Veterans who put and end to the evil, and freed all the people who survived till the end. Even with Liberation, many were still lost.
Best Regards,
Ray
