Re: My 2020 old tool finds
We found a couple of old tools at sales yesterday and I’m adding pictures of some earlier finds cleaned up. I added cad plated S-K tools to the new box I posted upthread.

Re: My 2020 old tool finds
Here are some recent eBay finds. The Barcalo chisel is on it’s way to Tennessee. Except for the spinner, the Walden 1/4” drive tools are very dark Black Oxide.

Re: My 2020 old tool finds
Since we have been ordered to shelter in place for the foreseeable future, any tool finds will be coming via the internet. I recently found a partial S-K 1/4” drive set on eBay with a few sockets. The odd thing was that the seller threw in a few free sockets. One socket was a chrome Williams which I was really surprised to see Navy NAF markings on. I also found this 11” Irwin screwdriver on a buy it now that arrived today. It is now in my Jeep’s toolset.

Awesome grabs Don! I know you have to be really excited about that ink stamped Irwin. Congrats.
BTW--thanks again for the BB chisel.

Re: My 2020 old tool finds
Thanks, Phil. I couldn’t resist this 1942 canvas item I spotted on eBay. Seller stated that it was meant for holding lineman’s pliers and these 7-1/2” Bokers I had lying around are a perfect fit. It’s already in the Jeep.

Don,
That pouch looks like the ones that hold hand-held wire cutters.
Thank you,
Henry

Thanks to Len, Dave and Phil for adding to my wartime tool education. I’ll keep an eye out for a pair.

Don, you can have the pair in my photo if you want them. I'll set them aside with some other things I need to send your way.

Re: My 2020 old tool finds
Back in November 2018, I picked up a little Plomb 4751 ratchet on eBay. The seller mentioned that it didn’t work properly and sure enough it had a broken dog. I’ve been looking for a working reasonably priced one since then and today one arrived that the eBay seller stated was functional three different places in his listing. That should have been a red flag. Sure enough, it only worked one way and when I opened it up it not only had a broken dog but one of the springs was missing. I compared it to my first one and was pleasantly surprised to see that they each had different broken dogs. I used the best pieces from both ratchets and came out with quite a decent example. When I contacted the seller he claimed to have tested it both directions but offered a partial refund. Since a spring was missing it obviously had been taken apart before. At least I now have a nice working ratchet. It’s obvious why Plomb stamped NR on them and discontinued them so quickly. They are extremely fragile. Mine won’t ever be put in use. The first two pictures are from November 2018.
