Hi guys can anyone give me a guide price for a fully restored Willys MA.

Both US and EU price guide if possible.

Vehicle has original MA motor / manifold / carburetor / generator / starter motor / gearbox / transfercase / chassis / axles / distributor / data plates / correct gauges / gas tank / windscreen plus many other small original MA parts.

Other parts are reproductions which I believe to be absolutely correct for the MA, and have been sourced from all over the world over the last 25 years.

Everything has been totally reconditioned.

Time to take on another project :D

regards Wayne

Dear Wayne,

if I'm not wrong, four years ago, a Willys MA (to be restored) but all original in engine, tub, dataplates, etc etc....was sold for roughly 100K USD....

In my opinion, the price for an original well restored Willys MA could be similar for a Ford GPA.

Hoping this may help you.

Have a nice day.

Kindest Regards

Luigi

I would think you could start at $200,000.00 and see what happens. If the MA is as nice and runs as good as you say you could very possibly achieve this price and/or set a new base price for a restored MA. You can always work your way down on the selling price but you really can't inflate the price once you set it. Of course there is always THAT site with a minimum bid to be met and you can set that anywhere you want. There is probably at least one person out there who would consider buying it at $200K if he/she really wanted it. Of course Money talks in this hobby.

I read somewhere (might have been on this site ) that there are only 37 MAs left in the world. Anyone know different ???

Hello Mark:

Gavin Walker keeps the MA list:
http://willysma.com/

Gavinā€™s list has 66 known MA in the world. However, many of these are just engines or chassis or unknown. Looks like only about 20-25 restored MA in the world.

I think Toby's went to Finland or Russia. As far as value I think there should be a big difference between a restored MA with only an original frame and a truly original MA with almost all original parts. The top 5 cars(most original) should be north of 150k while a heavily reproduction car should be around 50k in my opinion. It is great to see all these frames being made into cars for people to enjoy but when things get overly watered down it devalues the real ones a bit. Can you imagine having a real MA and taking it apart to create 3 MA's each 1/3 "real" to cash out. Just food for thought. Sean.

Good thoughts gorilla...if you are buying these cars for history, love the wrinkles and holes!

I agree with Sean,
Must different heavily between very original ones (probably few worldwide only) and ā€œmost repro partsā€ ones. Also the real technical shape and condition plays roll.
