Re: F134 fouling plugs after rebuild
BTW.... elevation here is about 4,300 feet. Not something I have needed to account for on any of the other equipment here.
Also... I did order a vacuum gauge. Maybe be here Friday if I am lucky. Probably next Monday. Mail is slow to get there.

Intake Valve Guides and Packings (Seals) are still suspect.

Re: F134 fouling plugs after rebuild
Sounds like a little bit of everything going on. Right off the bat I woukd be concerned with crankcase dilution, if it is excessive it could ruin your rings and bearings.

Re: F134 fouling plugs after rebuild
definitely running too rich. Do you have a vacuum reading?

Re: F134 fouling plugs after rebuild
It is obvious that there is a fuel delivery issue, but I woulld also suggust that you also recheck the Oil Pump (timing slot) for proper installation @ TDC, the spark Plug Wires for firing order(1342) and the Timing.

Timing, according to my light, is correct. I did wonder about the oil pump installation, but it times up to the marks fine. Firing order is correct.

Still running the break in oil. Hasn't traveled more than a few miles. Will check it for any presence of fuel.

Re: F134 fouling plugs after rebuild
Run it without the snorkel tube attached. Verify the choke isn’t closing or not attached properly to the cable. Finally once a vacuum gauge shows up take a reading and then verify fuel pressure with same gauge. They often are dual use. Report back. If the needle isn’t properly pinching off fuel it will dump excess down throat of carb.

Re: F134 fouling plugs after rebuild
The last post indicating removing the cross over tube is a good suggestion as an overfilled oil bath air cleaner will cause choking/running rich. https://www.militarytrader.com/military ... er_service

New carburetor and vacuum gauge should be here next week.

Re: F134 fouling plugs after rebuild
Have run the engine quite Abit with the oil bath out of play. That is eliminated as the culprit.
