For the history experts on the HMMWV's
why did AMG start putting the remote power steering reservoir on top of the intake manifolds? And what was the reason this would be added to trucks in the motor pool that didn't come that way from the factory?
I'm assuming its got to do with the hydraulic winches?

Ain't that the truth! Nothing worse than worrying about when one is going to blow. Do you know the spec for the REV Pressure Hoses?

Winch, rear diff cooler (on m1114/1113) and serpentine setup upgrade were main reason.

Here's my thought. I slightly overfilled my pump one time and instead of the extra fluid rising up the deep ford breather hose, it blew out around the cap. I don't believe those caps were designed well enough to be completely submerged and keep water out even with a breather hose attached. I wish I would have a high mounted reservoir when I have the need to put it in deep.
