Not sure where I came across these, but the subject of dead 'offshore' 24V coils comes up often enough to merit 'options' for consideration.
I think this may have been someone in Brazil or such, and I cannot find the actual voltage of the inserted "coil on plug" that he modified to insert in the old housing can.
Just some food for thought. (If anyone locates or knows of the original article with these photos, please add a link to this post! )

This is a Yukkazo Ignition 01009/DU (Spanish language site) if someone can look it up and translate it, I had no success with that number
Blue lines appear to be two wires headed up to lid, red with arrows means "cut here" and the red and blue "X" he likely meant to make all red for 'cut off' this piece.
Not shown how the wires are hooked up from the base to the top terminals, I would highly recommend insulating them from the can.... Note the cutdown coil at the top and the "inside" of the old coil which has been drilled for the new stud inserts. Can't ID where the little tiny stud and slotted top stud would end up, perhaps into the original coil pad base to give the new coil spring something to contact? But it looks like the cutoff coil has to be affixed to the top and not drop or settle down into the can, so it's likely a mount piece he screwed the cut coil onto the lid with.
White spacers are to push terminals up to lid, PVC or Nylon should work fine.
No elaboration on if he used a coil plug and some crimp terminals or soldered everything at the connection points.
Might have glued the top on, or dimpled the edges, not clear here.

Interesting, finally some alternative ideas coming out. I am not aware of any 24 volt COP's but then again I have not dealt with cars from foreign countries. I have several COP's left over from my Mustang upgrade and a couple bad coils. Might have to do some experimentation.

That is interesting in the fact that it says 04-08 4.6 32 valve. 04-08 was the 4.6 3 valve engine, 3 X 8 = 24. I wish mine was a 4 valve!

Before slapping money down, make sure 24V doesn't stand for the number of valves in a 6 cylinder engine or such. I was searching details and most seemed to hit on the engine valves vs voltage. If I had an old 12volter laying around it might offer a neat experiment.

look out for this type of coils
this type coils are for a computer sent system
a normal ignition use aboud 3to 5 amps this coil can go from 10 til 15 amps
so the points or the electric do not can cope with it
