My Jeep Gauges

Post by Raflad » Thu May 23, 2019 7:27 pm

Finally sourced all the correct Stewart Warner gauges for my GPW. Mocked them up in my spare tub. Hope to start working on the restoration later this year, still working on the MBT but making progress.

Nice pack of gauges! I've been slowly working through sourcing my own - currently have an original KS speedo installed, and have the original fuel and oil gauges awaiting install :D

Thanks guys. Just goes to show if you are patient you can find the correct gauges for a reasonable price. The only one that is original to my GPW is the speedometer which was a real mess. Everything was seized and virtually no trace of numbers on the trip and odometer. I showed it to a friend at work and he said he could restore it. He'd never done anything like that before but is one of those annoying guys that can do anything. Wish I had taken more photos of it during the restoration. He did an amazing job. He researched the correct fonts and built everything in Photoshop. We calibrated it using a cordless drill and strobe light, yet to see how accurate it is. Before you ask he did mention that he would never do another one!
