What do you think that rectangular thing is on the fender? When I enlarge the picture it just gets blurry. Could it be a carrier pigeon cage?

Ive seen these on a restored jeep (British), no idea what they are for though, i will have a guess, first aid tin maybe ??? Now i wished i had asked the owner. :x

All sorts of strange in that Thai jeep shot, US Army, USMC, folding shovel on the side. she's obviously driving fast and turning while holding onto the seat to make sure she doesn't slide out...exactly the conditions the earlier MUTT liked to roll over.
Speaker system looked like the TOW missile carrier jeep when I first looked back away from the legs... :)
