Looking really good Beers, i noticed that you have the thicker seat cushion. Ive just put one on mine, passenger side though, for my good lady. (it stops the moaning of how uncomfortable she feels).
Thanks Mark! And padding is a good thing for the backside! :) I bought the seats, crash pad covers, draft boots, and door safety straps from Dave P. At WeeBee Webbing. Really nice stuff, the canvas feels great. The OD blanket stashed inside the seat didn’t give me quite enough, so I cheated and added a small piece of foam padding. Here’s the seat without anything put inside.

Applying the covers to the crash pads. 3M makes a trim adhesive that works perfect for stuff like this. Just spray on and fold over two sides, let dry, and then spray a little bit on the remaining two sides and fold over.

Nice work at the bench Paul...I had to use a hand impact tool on my pole screws...gonna do the gennie maybe?
That X2 is maybe a rebuilder's collating mark...? or maybe a play on the AL code?....tag on mine was 1X
Good to see the shop open anyway.
Thanks Ralph. I tried with a small hand impact and broke a piece off the bit, ugh. But the screw was going to lose the fight one way or another...

Good thought on the rebuilder mark, that would make sense. The AL tag on the band didn’t have any stamping other than MZ 4113, maybe not the original starter anyway?

Here’s the starter installed. Now I just need to find a proper screw to replace hex head on the timing cover...

Some photos of the fenders, one had nothing left of the flange that bolts the frame by the tub, the other just had one of the ears broken off, but luckily it came off when I pulled the fender so I just welded it back on. And the usual welding up Bubba’s extra holes. Also some tinning on the LH fender for the light harnessses.

And the fender hardware (mostly all original, combo of A marked bolts to the frame and C/TR marked bolts to the tub), anti-squeak pads, and of course some OD :D

And the blackout lights in the grill, with the CB markings still in really good shape

And some shots of the grill bonding straps, you can certainly still find these NOS (mine were long gone). Also the EC bolts on the headlamp swing arms. I did pick up a couple original Seelite headlamps from a member of the Gee, they look really nice and have a faint yellowish tint to them.

Thank you Mark!

I just put in an order with Robert de Ruyter for some stencils, lots of work left but it will be nice to start getting down to those finishing touches :)

Hi Paul,
All very pleasing to look at, yours is as good as they come. Each section 10 out of 10.
Robert's stencils are high class, nice to use; however,I did manage to apply an S upside down on one cowl... it looked stupid...sort of how I felt.
Best wishes
Ralph
