Rain or Shine?
Quick question...I know they don't allow TENTS in the 49er RV park, but those pop-up tents or the canopies with no walls and those which are not STAKED in should be OK right? If wind is an issue, a couple five-gallon buckets with H20 will prevent them from achieving an airborne disaster condition I believe...
Again...nobody sleeps in them and nobody uses tent pegs or tries to tie them to any existing tree/bush/water/waste/power feature. Should be OK, right?

Re: Rain or Shine?
No problemo. Could be a G.I. tent is ok for display only. Maybe Dave Porter or Jo-Ann can talk about tent pins in the RV Village.
I know what your thinking.

Canopies and shade covers are OK but the 49er doesn't want tents in their park and other than the Mobiflex tents almost everything else needs to be staked down and that's what they're trying to avoid.

Re: Rain or Shine?
Five gallon buckets filled on-site with water and used to tie-down your 10' x 10' or larger canopy that is NOT used as a sleeping area, but to provide shade if its hot and cover if it rains. I certainly hope so because we tend to have a LOT of those at out events!
Technically they are not really a "TENT" but a shade and rain cover, right?
That's my story and I'm sticking to it but we need clarification from the 49er this is ok....staking seems to be their problem which I perfectly understand.
We use a "rain cover" over our cooking/dining tables like this one you can park your MV in at home....In the photo we staked it or tied it down but it would be easy enough to fill a bucket and place it next to the upright pole to secure the cover:

Chuck,
You're making a mountain out of an anthill! Bring buckets and rope and we'll provide the water to fill them.

Chuck, in reference to Kurt's reply: "NO STAKES": Steaks were hard to come by in a combat zone, and therefore would not be appropriate or in keeping with the locals (49'ers) during our occupation. Genuine Yankee Ingenuity will serve us all well.

I thought you had Dave and Matt standing at that corner all week with the post zip tied to their legs. No?
Jerrycans are good for this job and have weight of their own. Could even put For Sale signs on them! (replace when each sells....). I have extras!

An alternative to water filled buckets are canopy weights. You can get them at the local Home depot:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-Ca ... &gclsrc=ds
You can stack them on the legs if more than one is needed.

Re: Rain or Shine?
Nice thing about the 49er is lots of big trees that should block much of the wind. No "Delta Breeze" and risk of peat dirt clouds.

Re: Rain or Shine?
John.....I got no trees in my space.....which is either a good or a bad thing.
Good....if its chilly and you want as much morning and late afternoon sun to warm your sleeping place as possible.
Bad....if its 85F in the daytime and a wind chill factor for your site down to 37F.
Hey, some of us are Old Men who can't stand too much of either.
However I am optimistic we'll be in shorts and sun hats. Why not? I already got 'em packed!

Yes and steaks are allowed too, last I heard. But your problem might be that no Orygonians are allowed without supervision by a non-Orygonian. Or did you move to CA?GRAVEDIGGER wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2019 4:02 amOK, I understand we are not aloud to have steaks in the park. Are hamburgers OK.
