I have not connection with the sale or seller.

If you should go have a look see, I'd be really interested in the information on the light (aluminum ?) tag just to the right of the handbrake lever.
Looks like the fuel pump has been replaced as well .Thanks Barrie

If you would like to know about the tag you can contact him on here - under his name robert uren.

..and then again ... just checked for him and he seems to have disappeared from the 'G' altogether !

Robert very kindly sent me lots of photos of this Jeep a month or so ago, despite the fact that I had told him that I would regrettably be unable to afford to buy it. It came from Australia, and is pretty much untouched, just weathered. I recall him mentioning that the only significant thing needed was a fuel tank well, which I think he said had been bashed rather than rusted.

Was the motor number matching the frame/data plate numbers? That would certainly give it an added value.

Yes, because if it's a shipping plate the general consensus ( viewtopic.php?f=4&t=303415&p=1761768&hi ... e#p1761768 ) would be that it's about a year early for what the data plate on the glove box contends that it is. The jeep salad MB I'm working on now has it and that's one of the features I used to help narrow down the time period that the tub was made.

Hello,
That is a beautiful Jeep !!!

Barrie,

The tag in question is an Australian Surplus Dealer tag that was placed there.
Here is a link to another listing of this jeep, with a good action photo of it.

Hello Ray, the interest in the tag was from another responder 'Fernmelder' I was just pointing out I live near the owner of the jeep ! I do know someone who knows him so if anyone was serious about it I could contact him.
