Nice poster! There are many with women and Jeep  !

Now two Russian women in a FORD GPW Jeep.
It's seems that the Russians were proud of their jeep ! This photo is a real masterpiece.. but many men do not stop smoking for the photo :D .

The St. Malo area was not as badly damaged as some of the other French ports. Perhaps this little girl is still around. It would be interesting to send this photo to a local news agency in that area for a probe to see if anyone still remembers or recognizes this little girl

That photo was found in a collection on Google Arts and Culture.
But I'm not sure that the caption is correct. It says "Saint Malo artillery and shells" :o
David E. Scherman has covered the operation in Saint Malo and Cherbourg with a woman named Paule M. Truffert
It should be easy to find the family of Paule Truffert, because she was known as the only one speaking English in Cherbourg at the time.
Perhaps in that family they could trace where the photos were taken.

A very fun photo again in Russia in the region of Gorky.(ex Novgorod)

The driver had a problem and stopped the jeep : Not a flat tire... but something in his shoe !
Hopefully it was not to swap a wheel with one of the two spare wheels !
He could have used that old wheel hanging behind the jeep.
The wheel diameter looks correct   !
In the Jeep, one women looks busy with a baby while the other smiles :)!

I've no lesson to give about the jeep accessories when I see my own jeep like that. (1963)
That's my wife, the little girl, in the jeep.
I like the incongruous presence of a hare in the back of the jeep  .

Yes, that's my Jeep.
She was painted in a Bordeaux color at the time, and the baskets and ladders were used to harvest apples for high stem orchards.

@tango21. Nice photo from Holland !

Looks like someone installed home made civilian style rear corner bow pocket for a CJ type top. Is my guess correct ?

Yes, absolutely. I've removed them when I've restored the jeep.

Yves, can you post a photo of your "now restored" jeep. It would be interesting to compare it with the photo, i bet it hasnt been overloaded like it was in the original photo. :D
