M16A1 Mounted to Pedestal
I have the ROPS and it would be impossible to access the front seats with the M16A1 also mounted in either of those compartments. I saw a post were someone mounted the M16A1 to the machine gun pedestal. However, I now cannot find the post. I believe his friend did it and he would have to contact him. Looks like a great idea, but a bracket would be needed to extend the mount forward away from the pedestal so the M16 will clear the bottom base plate of the pedestal. Has anyone done this? If so, please advise and your comments are appreciated.

Re: M16A1 Mounted to Pedestal
Figured it out....took the bracket in the upper left and reshaped it to go around the pedestal. Can only mount one rifle, but that is all I want. Thanks.

Aside from looking cool, a pedestal mounted rifle is a very bad idea. As was the Bradley port firing weapon.

Re: M16A1 Mounted to Pedestal
It is only a storage mount like this. Only I want to attach it to the machine gun pedestal because there is not enough room in the front compartments because of the ROPS.

Re: M16A1 Mounted to Pedestal
Finally got my M16 mounted to the pedestal. Need to paint the nuts and bolts and touch up the pedestal, but works great and does not take up room in the driver and passenger compartments.

That looks good, and possible to mount two side by side for Driver and TC.

Looks great!!
I have seen this down with a WWII jeep, and a cut down WWII rifle mount. They had mounted a Thompson sun machine gun in it.
You did good Devildog!
