Need feedback on replica 1919
Gang,
Thinking of getting a 1919 for the jeep. I want something I can use for display and occasional reenactments. For those of you who have them, what’s the best option on sim fire 1919’s and do they hold their value? (Can I get close to what I put into it if i ever choose to sell it)
Thanks in advance,
Hurley

Can you own a semi auto in your state.
To me that would be the best of both worlds.
It will hold it's value the best.

I have a .30 1919 and a .50 M2, both work great and look very good. Discount for MVPA members, very good folks to deal with.
I don’t see them come up for sale used, I suspect folks either don’t sell them or they sell with the vehicle they are mounted on.

I second Hoosier. I have a semi auto M1919 but I do have one of their early .50s and people have to ask if it's real. His newer ones are even better!!

Site shows $795 for a great looking 1919 replica. IF that is their price, you couldn't build one yourself for less.Hired Goon wrote: ↑Tue Oct 30, 2018 3:59 amhttp://www.hoosierhotshot.com

Are you looking for just the weapon or a whole setup ... tripod with head cover, T&E, spare barrel & cover, ammo cans with full loaded belts of dummy ammo, belt loader plus extra tools and such?

Re: Need feedback on replica 1919
I found that a simi-auto is only 500-700 more than a non-working gun. I went with the simi-auto and I am very happy with it. I just will not spend that kind of money for a non-working gun.
When I am at parades and shows I make it non-working as follows:
I bought a shot out barrel and barrel extension from Sarco. I welded the chamber shut and mounted it in the extra barrel extension. When attending shows I just install them in place of the working set. I know it is still technically a firearm, but not many would people know how to make it working. I also only have blanks and dummy rounds at shows and parades. Nothing live.
For security, I run a cable and lock from the barrel jacket to the mount in the jeep (the extra holes in the travel bar bracket).
