I have been following your thread for some time now 1943WillysGPW and I must say that your work is well done! I never knew the about the center frame rail. But looking at it, I understand now how the engine is mounted. Nice!!
Thank you. You are correct in that the engine is basically the passenger.

While I am waiting for parts, I decided to get the Seelite headlights started. I order the bulbs from Susquehanna MotorSports part number 2 x CP49201 - 6V - 45/40W - $5.84. When they arrive I will post the reassembly photos. I used the torch to melt the solder. Remember that if you do this, wear a mask with the proper filters. They were not aware of all the leads and asbestos problems that would occur when these were made. :o

Yes. It was a good day to have a nice brew ski or two. Bulbs for the Seelite came in. Here is the part number for anyone wanting to order theirs.

Got the radiator cleaned out yesterday as well. Mice had left a few deposits in there over the years. Flow is great and i pressure tested it. Rubber bike inner tube and some hose clamps does the trick. Cut the tube opposite from the valve. clamp the cut ends on the hose inlet and outlet. Fill the radiator with water, place the cap on and put about 10 lbs of pressure to the schrader valve and look for leaks.

Few more pictures to share. I need to take a picture of the inside firewall. I finished it and installed it. Tip to restorers of a GTB ( the plate that has holes for the petals to go through goes on last). I had to remove it to put the inner right hand driver firewall in. I am including a photo of the transmission hump. It is pretty rough. I have to sand blast it and work the rest of the metal still.

I had thought that I posted photos of the Seelites. I finished them last week. Here they are. I used clear silicon to make a very small bead around the glass and installed them with latex gloves on.

Battery box work has begun. I made a tool to use in my press to shape the sheet metal. 1/2 inch square and round stock. Measured the round stock to length and rounded the ends. Welded it the correct depth to two pieces of square stock one on both sides. Welded two pieces of square stock together with a small piece on both ends for a spacer then rounded the inside of the spacers to fit the opposing part I had made with the round stock. See photos.
