Shock Absorber Question
Have a question about the shock absorbers on my MBT. On compression there is very little resistance but on extension there is quite a lot of resistance. I am assuming this is not good as I would expect to have equal resistance in both directions. Can someone please confirm if these need to be replaced. Shame if they are no good as their external condition is very good with original paint. Thanks in advance.

Re: Shock Absorber Question
Adam,
First determine if the shocks need purging or priming. Older shocks needed this to ensure displacing air away from the piston/valve section.
Invert shock and pull to full extension. Right the shock and then compress. Repeat a few times. See if the compression action improves.
If not, perhaps the shock is bad.

Re: Shock Absorber Question
Thanks Rus, I'll give it a try next week when I'm down with the trailer.

Re: Shock Absorber Question
Nothing improved, so guess I need to buy replacements.

And no matter how good the shocks, empty MBT/M-100 Trailers will bounce on rough roads.
