M2 halftrack back to it.
Hi everyone. I have been out of it for a long time but am now getting back to it. My father and I had started this years ago but with kids, moving and other priorities it had been on the back burner. I have a lot of projects, but after some soul searching realized that this was the one that my dad and I had the most history, fun and interest in. My dad is now in his 70s and I don’t want to regret not getting it done with him. The others can wait. I had my m2 in storage waiting until I had time and now will make it the priority. We ordered a set of tracks and we are going to give it a go.
If anyone remembers me I am working on an early m2. My intentions are to get it together and not exactly worry about perfection. We will do the best we can and focus more on enjoying the time working on it. I will have questions along the way and hope for some help if you folks are willing. I have a lot of parts and a lot of duplicates that I might be willing to trade for stuff I don’t have.
My first goal is to get everything pulled out and take inventory of what we have. The act of lugging the hoods and armor around will not be as easy as it once was but I think we can do it. I will just make more noise doing it.
Anyway, sorry to be long winded but wanted re-introduce myself and say more to come. I have appreciated the help I received in the past. My phone number changed a few years back so if I had any dealings of past that people lost contact, pm me.
Thanks.
Jason.

It’s great you’re getting back at it. And to get to work on it with your dad is a huge bonus! I’ll look forward to seeing your progress posted. I’m rebuilding an M2A1, so we can commiserate! Good luck with it.

Long shot to get help for you on moving the armor around. I am getting up in age like your father, so moving heavy stuff is kicking my rear end. If there is a military base near you contact them and see if they have a program to get the the service members out into town helping the community. We have one here called the Single marine program. It gets the single marines out of the barracks and into the community. Every Saturday I have 2 to 6 Marines show up to help me with my military vehicle collection. it is a win win for everyone. Great program.

Welcome back, I'll be looking forward to some updated pictures. I moved in the beginning of my project after it was torn down. It's no fun moving piece by piece.

Jason, Cody
My early M2 half track also came out of Nebraska years ago. Full armor.
The guy I got it from gave me a picture when he bought it off a cattle farmer. it was a row of full armor m2 half tracks on this guys farm. He used them to take feed out to his cows.
Mine had very good tracks dated 1968

Thanks for the welcome back folks. Look forward to asking stupid questions and I will try to post pics as I go. Again, this will not be a perfect anything. I have seen some of your restorations and we are not in that class. Thanks again.

Good to hear from you again Jason. Glad to hear your getting rolling again. I’m going to be rolling through Omaha at the end of the month. Going to visit Kevin and then heading to Iowa.
