Nurse second from right looks to be wearing a French tin hat - or am I wrong?

Joan Rogers was 17 when she joined the newly-formed Auxiliary Territorial Service for women in London, England, just before WII.
Her, she is sitting in the jeep she used to pass a driving test. She found the jeep ‘great fun’.
Or perhaps she is relaxing after a huge stress :-)!

Yes that's fun, "santé !".
Believe me, General Joseph L. Collins (VIIth Corps) had a much better bottle when he arrived here, where I'm actually living.
Many bottles of champagne Pommery like this one, empty  , were left in our cellar by the famous Major-engineer Alfred Becker (Artillery reserve), inventor of the Märder, and commander of the Stug-Abt-200 during the operation Goodwood in Normandy.
At first it seems to be an ordinary bottle, the last one I've found with the labels:

Have a close look on the label!

It was not necessary for the Germans to translate the label In English  !
It says: "Reserved for the Wehrmacht - Purchase and resale prohibited "
So I guess General "Lightning" Collins and his officers have ignored what was written on the bottles :)!

The one Marine with the Eagle Globe and anchor emblem almost upside down, that is also the wrong emblem for that cover, the anchor is pointing backwards...

Nice looking GTB in one of the pictures. Any idea where and when this convoy occurred?

Waah, very nice photos !
I believe that these photos have been taken by William Shrout, early in 1944 for the Life magazine.
I had only the last one in the series.
Thanks for sharing the complete set.
