Very sad. I had purchased a number of things from him and his daughter years ago at MV swap meets. He was always very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. His daughter made the wiring harness in my GPW. Stay safe out there everyone!

Mike was a fine man. Always helpful and very knowledgeable about our hobby. Great vendor in all areas too.
Will certainly be missed. Will pray for his family at this time of loss.

Terrible news. It's one thing to get old or sick and die but a traffic accident is such an unexpected loss for their family and in Mike's case, his many friends and former customers. Michael talked to me today about doing a remembrance at the swap meet at Tower Park in September, and he said everybody in this region probably has a part on their jeep bought from Mike. Probably at a great price too. Even I do, and I have not bought many jeep parts.

I'm so sad to hear about Mike Stopforth just now.

I only visit the US once or twice a year and I wanted to visit him tomorrow. I called his mobile and no answer so I decided to check for his new number here on the Gee.

So very sad to hear that he passed. I will always remember him as the jolly, frank and generous man who would gladly share all his Jeep knowledge to anyone who would show genuine interest.

I learned so much from him. Rest in Peace old friend.

I just wanted to share a video of him that I took many years ago. It encapsulates for me his personality. Fun loving and frank.

P.s. I didn't teach him how to swear in Filipino. He already knew!

p.p.s I called him Santa Claus . lol!
