We were up at D-Day Ohio Friday and members of the 87th Chemical Mortar Team Live Fired there 60mm ,there 81mm and there Live 4.2 inch with empty demilled Gas rounds. Brian said that there's is the only registered live fire 4.2 ! The first 4.2 went way out into Lake Erie ! Great Event, Plan on going up next year ! Don Shaffer N.E. Ohio

We have a 4.2 demill , I have only seen 3 in private hands in about 50 years of collecting. I have the 12 Ga. adapter for the Finnish Smoke Mortar and I;m thinking about making a blank firing signal gun out of it ! I would weld a plate over the demill hole that would hold the blank firing device there;s also a 1/2 inch bar welded across the bore. Don Shaffer N.E. Ohio

really wish I could have gotten to be there. I did however see a large amount of tanks and guns on semi trailers heading south on I-71 by Lodi. Wish I didn't work the weekend after seeing those. Now your post makes me really really wish I went.

Is it a yearly event?

And FYI, The guys at Ordnance.com have a live 4.2 as well

I’m sorry I missed the event this year too after going the last several. It is a yearly event though. Check out their site, tons of pictures.

I bought Marshall's (Ordnance.com's) 4.2 a few years ago. We knew there were post war M30's out there but to our knowledge this was the only NFA registered WW2 4.2 out there. If there are others that would be great! Would love to get them together and shoot together!

I am glad you enjoyed the demo! Its always great to demo for the public. I have included some shots of the 4.2

Thanks,
Brian

Cleaner shot showing more of the mortar itself. Breaks down and wheel flip over for travel similar to a U.S. 75mm.
