It's been several months since my last update so I thought I would share a few more pictures of my spring/summer jeep activities. Unfortunately I haven't touched the GPW since 4th of July...been way too busy and my free time and decent weather don't seem to align! Oh well, at least she looks pretty sitting in the garage every time I leave and get home from work
First, a few additional pictures of what my jeep looked like before I started the resto in August 2013. Definitely a tired-looking old gal! Hard to believe that was 5 years ago already, too
This was taken at the Aberdeen, MD swap meet this past May. I unfortunately showed up on Saturday morning and apparently missed the busiest day, which is Friday. I'll be back next year, though, especially since I live right down the road!
Then there was dodging thunderstorms later that evening
Next was WWII Weekend in Reading, PA during the first weekend of June. As always, a great show! Especially when you have the jeep as your front row seat to the air show. It's also always great to meet other MV owners, though I'm always shocked at how many aren't on the 'G'. Although, the common theme for most was that the 'G' is too hostile and people are too critical. I thought that was a fairly accurate description, actually (and unfortunately)
And finally, this was after I got home from WWII Weekend. I ended up driving from my house in MD to the show, then to my parents house between each day. Did 400 care free miles that weekend, even driving home one night in severe thunderstorms. The jeep performed flawlessly
Well that's it for now. Maybe I'll have some engine updates later this fall. At this point I don't seem to have another free weekend until mid-October. I'm hoping by then I'll be able to pressure test my crack fix, and if successful, reassemble the engine in time to potentially install it before winter sets in. Not holding my breath all of that will get done by then, though...
