Think about it: the OP said it was Forest Green, which means it has already been painted at some point in it's life after Military Service. So, any patina it has, is not original anyway. So, leaving the non original Patina intact, achieves nothing for originality. Plus it is rusty everywhere else, just from what I read. It needs restoring.
