Old TM's for M274 Mule

Post by RTK » Mon Jul 25, 2016 3:01 pm

Had my A5 Mule out front the other day when a young man starts checking out the Mule and asking the usual Mule questions . At that time he state he always wanted a Mule and had come across some TM's and would I be interested in them . I said sure figuring I could pass them on to somebody who needs them . A couple of days later he returned and handed me 2 VERY nice original M274 TM's , TM 9-8034-20 dated 1957 , and TM 9-2320-213-10 dated 1963 . I realized they have info on the 4 cylinder engine , they are a time capsule ! But here's the deal , anybody who has a need for them shoot me a note or PM and I will mail them to you . I figure somebody could use them . BTW Never realized early Mules came with a starting crank ! Enjoy Bob k

A copy of these would make a good addition to my Mule site for all the mule community to have access to.

If you would consider making a copy that would be great. If you need help converting the manuals please let me know and I can possibly help.

I have not received them yet but when I do I am certainly willing to share the information. I can get them digitized or whatever is required to get them put on WW pages.

No, the thanks goes to Bob K for his generosity in giving me these and Mike_W for his work on the White Works pages. They will come to great use with my 4cyl project.
I am thankful and amazed at what great guys there are who are in the Mule community. :D

It is amazing how this came about , all because I parked my Mule out front and some body stopped by to check it out . I must say the early 4 cyl. Mules are very interesting engine wise . Well hope this helps . Bob k

I just wanted to let everyone know that Chris did get the manuals scanned into pdf files and I have made them available on the WhiteWorks web site. These early manuals are great finds and I'm sure will be a good resource for those who have early mules.

Thanks for sharing...

I have added a manual I just found out about today on https://www.whiteworks.us/TheMule. It is under the Manuals (Misc) section of the Manuals page and titled FM 10-536 - AIRDROP OF SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT - RIGGING 1/2 TON PLATFORM TRUCKS. So now we know how to successfully drop our mules out of the sky...
