1952 M100 Trailer Restoration Thread

Post by thidisbogus » Tue May 26, 2015 7:58 pm

Hi guys,

I had a lot of activity on here for about 2 1/2 years as I restored the GPW. I finally found an M100 and will be restoring it to pull behind the GPW. I intend on equipping it as an MBT (correct tail lights, cable, markings) but have no intention of destroying its value as an M100 by destroying the handles and don't intend to change the lunette.

I found this particular M100 at John Colwell's ( http://www.vintagemilitarytrucks.com/Trailers.htm ). Ironically, I sold him the Bantam civilian trailer that I bought with the GPW once I discovered I did not have the time for two projects at once. John was a very fair seller and allowed me to kick the tires for several months (during which I got sidetracked getting burned by a guy in Nashville that sold me his M100 and backed out rudely--but that is another story) and even though his advertised price went up during that time he honored his original price.

Anyhow, here are some photos of the trailer as originally purchased:

After I got it back from the sandblasters. If anyone needs a reference to a great sandblaster in the Conroe Texas area let me know. I highly recommend for pricing and quality.
