MB 383324 from France

Post by Florent » Tue Apr 28, 2015 12:03 pm

Hello,
I just bought a new toy not far from home. Not in good shape, the jeep seems to have make heavy work during its life , and have a strange system added on the rear body (any idea ?).
The tub was covered by some patches of fiber glass to hide rust holes, at usual places. A lot of others patchworks on the body floor too. First registration dates from 1949, probably sold by French Surplus.
All the parts are mainly US, and the engine is unfortunately a " 641087 LW 11 A N1 CR N2" , which means CJ2A I guess.
Your comments are welcome, thanks.

Great Jeep,

You have some work ahead of you but an excellent starting point, like you I have no idea what the purpose of the modification under the rear wheel well is for, best of luck with it and once again I like it.

Thanks John. I like it too, mainly because the frame # and the body # are matching.

It looks like a good candidate for restoration. You're correct that the engine is post war and probably from a CJ2A.

You have a GPW hood! After 70 plus years, it's amazing they are still in existance. Great pictures, Thanks, John
