Slat Grill junkyard find

Post by ANDY » Thu Sep 12, 2013 4:31 am

Found this late slat in a yard in upstate Ny. Pretty beat condition, with no glovebox numbers, no frame tag and no body gusset. Has the solid battery tray. Has some nice parts like the 4 combats, gauges, grill, and 1944 mb engine. Interesting is the one glass marked Belgium. Also I noticed the glovebox divider plate as used in the m48 mount. Maybe a european return jeep?

I agree with the 2048088..although the last digit might be a 3?

Amazing they are still turning up like this, in some parts of the world it would be a restorers dream.

Wonder if this is an old SARAFAN re-import?

The glass marks : Jemeppes Sur Sambre - Belgium = Belgian glass factory.
What became of this Jeep ? Restored, sold, ...?
