tires

Post by SmarT » Fri May 27, 2011 11:43 am

Anyone know of a good place to get the blackwall 600-16 tires for a good price? Thanks

Might try Coker tire in Chattonooga, Tn. They got them, but they probably won't be too cheap.

It was not unusual to see 6.00X16 NDT Tires on the rear of WWII period Staff Cars during and after WWII. Many Ford and Chevy WWII Staff Cars were surplused having NDT's mounted. There were times during the war when passenger car tires were in short supply.

I always wondered if NDT's were ever on staff cars. I kinda figured they had to be. So many of the vehicles had NDT's and the jeep's had the same size. I may just try those out especially since they would look pretty good with my artillery rims. Thanks.

Great pics, thanks. I think what's interesting is just how shiny and clean the windows are in the first picture. Too bad there aren't more clear photos of staff cars.

Those are great! Interesting to see a two door staff car. I figured they had to be used in some ways, but you definitely don't see them much.

Yeah! Makes you wonder if it was a company vehicle there that they just acquired for their own use.
