Fording Exhaust

Post by rdh778 » Mon Sep 20, 2021 7:39 am

Can I leave the fording exhaust on indefinitely or is there a time limit? I know the exhaust does have some water occasionally but will it evaporate if I leave the fording pipe on or will it build up and do some type of damage to the exhaust pipes?
Thanks,
Bob

You can leave it on, the moisture will evaporate during a normal drive. That pipe gets good and HOT! With that said, you do NOT want to have anything of value behind it while it is idling and especially while it is warming up! It will be spitting all kinds of nasty black carbon out until it gets hot.

Thank you for your reply. I found out the hard way about the black carbon. It blasted my garage door with it. I'm going to put on a 90 degree elbow so it is exhausting behind my Mutt.

It is supposed to have a 90 on it.
