I HAVE A CAPTURED BAROMETER.....THAT WAS IN A GERMAN COMMAND POST...AND BROUGHT BACK BY THE VET....

.....GOOD LUCK WITH UR CAR .....I DO A LITTLE AS I HAVE TIME AND MONEY....

RIGHT NOW IM TAKING CAR OF SOME ELECTRICAL ISSUES.......BUT ITS STILL SATISFYING TO GET THOSE THINGS DONE...

GO HEAD AND USE THE BUMPER PAINT SCHEME.........I WOULD IMAGINE A GROUP COMMANDER HAVING USE OF A CAR..RATHER THAN A SQDN COMMANDER....WHO MIGHT BE MORE INCLINED TO HAVE STOLEN A JEEP....AND REPAINTED IT WITH SQDN MARKINGS..LOL..

BUT EITHER..WAY....ENJOY THE FRUITS OF UR LABOR...

I'll post a few pics if I can figure out how.... Right now it looks like gray and green camo. I will use the white paint on the wings but will wait until the car is all olive. Like you, my car budget is lean so I proceed a little at a time. I wish I could afford to buy everything I want whenever I want but. alas, other expenses have priority. Possibly I have more time as I work on it almost every day, taking baby steps.

I drove it to my neighbors yesterday...a few hundred yards...to see how it goes on the road. It was not disappointing. We'll get there!

No, I happened to find it on the internet. It seems to be from a "down under" military vehicle forum. It seems to send a picture on this forum you have to have an internet format but I can't find any instructions on how to do that. Do you know?

Gary,
Above the box you type your post into click on the Img button.
That should give you this: [ img ][ /img ]
Now you need to right click on the picture you want. That will open a box, and you want to left click on Properties at the bottom of the box.
That in turn will open a new box. About the middle of the box you will see Address followed by the picture's address. Example: http://www.gwim2.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/LANG.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Copy and Paste that address in between the [ img ]Paste picture address here[ /img ] and the picture should appear in your post.

Congrats on your win! Just the first of many. And to think you wanted to sell your car at one time.

lindyp38-What paint did you use for yours? It looks like it has more brown in it and I have been trying to find an od paint with more brown than yellow or a forest green look.

This was my 1941 P11 Plymouth...a bit too shiny to have it covered all over in olive drab...

Now this last picture looks a lot like so many vehicles and men who made it through a war....kinda beat down, unkempt but still going. I certainly feel that way...and my car has that look, too. Nothing wrong with bringing back a memory or two. (I stop short of bullet holes, but am happy to add some quirks young pilots might have added just for fun; e.g., a 50 cal cartridge for a missing vent knob.)
