Hello Seb,
Wow what a great discovery !!!!!
Very nice Jeep !!!
The gauges look all original, with 1 French gauge.
What is very interesting is it still has its pre-Normandy Invasion Ford data plate, and a seemingly rare French Army data plate as well.
I have never seen that before, I wonder if this Jeep was an actual WW2 French Army Jeep that was used during the War by the French Army ?
Are there any rebuild tags on the engine ?
Maybe it never was rebuilt by the French Army post war, making it a rare jeep by itself ?
Keep us posted on your restoration and see if you can discover the USA number and any French markings on it
Do you have any history on the jeep from the owner ?
Best Regards to you in Normandy !!!
Ray

My jeep was sold in 1948 by army. 1948 to 1952, first owner, 1952 to 2012 second owner and me now.
She have a Hotchkiss engine but i have find a GPW 190 826 engine.
French data plates is mysterious...
Yes i'm in Normandy (Le Perche exactly).
The front bumper was change and i haven't windshield.

Hello Seb,
That is great that you found a Gpw engine there in France !!
Plus that you know all of its history since 1948 !!
This jeep being sold so early after the War is pretty rare !!
That data plate I have never seen before, so hopefully someone else can add some information .
Having 4x4 stamped on your data plate means that
your Jeep was made at the Ford Factory in Dallas, Texas .
I am guessing you will find many markings on this jeep !
This and your other barn find Jeep
are incredible discoveries
It looks like you have combat rims too.
What brand tires do you have ?
Best Regards,
Ray
