Have not heard from Ray (70th Division) for a month now and I am missing the daily updates on progress. Has anybody here a clue what has happened (before and after the Big Wind) ? Hope he and his family are OK.

Hello,

I have been off the G as my beloved Mother passed away to God, to our Lord Jesus, and it has been such a sad time for me.
8 years ago I quit my job to be with her, so she wouldn't be alone here at home.
I know what that feels like now, and how happy she was, with me here with her.
We always had a great life, and enjoyed everyday, as we all did with my Father .
She was a wonderful Mother and person, and we did so much together, and she was over the last year making progress towards recovery, she and I worked on that together almost every day, and made progress, which she liked to see.
We watched movies together everyday, and we had breakfast, lunch, and dinner, in front of the TV, and enjoyed life the best we could.
She liked the peach ice tea, iced decaf coffee, orange juice, and sprite and most of what I cooked :D .
For her birthday in July, I had live lobsters shipped in from Maine, she liked that a lot, as we always had great family lobster boils.
I miss her so much, and always will miss her, and my Father, until we meet again.

If anyone has older Parents and Family, take care of them, and spend your time with them, you will never regret doing that.
God says to Honor your Father and Mother, and I always have done that, I wish I could have done more.
My Dad asked me to take care of her, and I did the best I knew how, along with my brothers.
I know she would want me to get back to working on the jeep, and to carry on, so I will do that.

I'm happy to see you back Ray as many of us have really missed you and the progress you have made on this and your other projects. I checked the path of Hurricane Ian and was worried that you suffered a material loss in addition to your personal loss, but it looks like you should have missed the worst of the storm. As I mentioned in my PM, I hope you can work through this period of grief and do as your mother would want. I just returned from a short-week at my mother's house doing Fall chores and was thinking about what happens when she's gone too. She really looks forward to my visits and enjoyed the ride I took her on in my GPW earlier this summer. Those memories are the things that we cherish, as I'm sure you know. God Bless, and again, my condolances.

You posted those pictures after I replied. She looks like she was a lot of fun to be around! You must have many happy memories!
