Re: GPW 197412 D O D 4-19-44
I was able to spend more time cutting parts this weekend. I bored the hole in the plates for the pintle pin. Tacked welded the mount together.
Also did the lay out for the tighten nut. Along time ago, I saw a old timer welder center pinch his lay out for a torch cut out. I do this all the time and it works well staying on the line of the cutting.
I am also going to mount the tripod on the front fender. I am doing some research to make a correct type of mount.

Traveled down 300 miles to Ron's open house and swap meet. Picked up my friend John along the way. Got to meet Ron and Steve and the whole crew.
We ready appreciated the vehicles on display and the free outstanding Mexican street taco's lunch.
I scored some wanted parts from Robin and others. Even found some needed deck screws.
I especially like the German soup can. Made in 1962, I'm going to use it as a hidden lunch box/drink carrier.
Lots of thanks G503.

Been awhile since I posted an update on my GPW. I took a trip of a lifetime to Europe in August . I do want to share pictures. I took thousands of them.
Mainly traveled in France, Belgium, Poland, Romania, and England. I went most of the D-Day areas and beaches. Lots of museums. Not sure where to post them yet? I have a bunch of European jeep pictures I took also.

I'm posting some files that were posted a while back. Sorry, don't know who created these. Hopefully something will be useful.

Hello,
Wow what a great treasure trove of instruction you have posted !!
Outstanding !
I will install one of these dash mounts on one of my future jeeps, as my Father had one for his water cooled Browning .30 cal machine gun in the Alsace- Lorraine.
That, and a wire cutter on the front bumper, and 30 below temperatures !!
I am looking forward to it, and love that original jeep pic with one still installed !!
Best Regards,
Ray
