Ciney Nl

Very nice restoration ! Congratulations
:o
But for the sake of accuracy, Ciney and its nice beer are in Belgium, not in the Netherlands.
The giant Militaria Expo is over there and you can have a Ciney beer while shopping for military stuff...
This is where I met your guys of AUTOPLACHTY NEKVASIL  .

Hi Yves, I'm so sorry I somehow got it wrong, :-) thank you for the praise, it's a pity that the Ciney expo is canceled, I was really looking forward to it and now before finishing the jeep I would need to buy a lot of small things there, just canvas straps, those from Nekvasil I don't like it very much .-), so maybe in the autumn we will meet there and have a beer :-)

You could contact Philippe in Gerpinnes, just a little further to Ciney for you
He is the best man in the world. He has many original parts and he proposes reasonable prices.

Contact here;
https://philippejeep.com/contact.html
English is ok with him.
Better to shoot him an email with your requirements.
He is my favorite supplier and located very close to where I'm living. So only advantages.

If you need gears pinions etc .., he has a link with an Italian manufacturer for gears made from the original drawings.

Hello Milan,

You jeep looks almost complete !!

Do you have any updates ?

The star looks great, and I really like the tall numbers that you will put on her.

I will do the same on my 43 GPW soon.

Keep up your great works !!!

Best Regards,
Ray

Hi Ray, my girlfriend got covid , so I had other worries , but luckily it worked out well :-), some new accessories and parts came in so I'm going to fit them : -), I'm having a bit of a problem with the gearbox , when I shift out of neutral it doesn't go into gear , I have to take the gear shift lever out and reinstall it then it works for a while , I changed the gear shift boot , but that didn't help , I'll try changing the gearbox cover , I also tried a different gear lever that didn't help either and it popped out , a few more little things to tweak , registration at the office and I'll be done : -), otherwise the spring seats from AAMFGCW are fantastic I am very happy with them, then I managed to get a NOS decontaminator with holder from a friend of yours , I still have to think where to mount it :-) Regards Milan.

Hello Milan,

I hope all is well with your girl friend and you !!!
That chinese bio weapon germ warfare creation is a nasty thing.
I assume they were not alone in creating it either.

Your jeep parts look great, but those seat cushions will be remarkable !!!

I plan to order a set for my 1943 GPW soon.
Good luck on the transmission rebuild, I have to learn about them soon.

Keep us posted ,
and stay safe !!

Best Regards,
Ray

Hello Milan,

A word to describe your Jeep :

INCREDIBLE !!!

You did it !!!!!
And you did it quick ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
What you have achieved is an inspiration to all of us still working away on our jeeps !!!
What a beautiful Jeep you have now, to enjoy the history, and keep it alive !!!

The beautiful Czech countryside, outstanding !!

I will drink a beer to your efforts ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
Even a red tab on the gas can !!

Keep us updated ,

And please keep posting pictures when you get her to events, and castles, and wherever you drive her.

Best Regards,

Fantastic work, congratulations. I particularly like your font, more natural hand cut style stencil markings, and dull white paint that add a period feel to the vehicle markings. There is one thing you may want to take into consideration. Many period photographs of Airborne assigned Jeeps show that the Airborne Regiments tended to mark their Regiment designation as โ€˜PIโ€™ for Parachute Infantry rather than โ€˜Iโ€™ for Infantry. Though it was not authorized according to the regulation for vehicle markings, it was apparent that the Airborne Regiments ignored the officially authorized Infantry designation, likely to separate themselves from โ€œlegโ€ Infantry.
