Hello All,
I hope Tom is doing well, and I wish he would come back !!
He is the foremost Historian and Expert on all things GPW, a rare breed, that are few and far between !!
We are all blessed with
his knowledge and his sharing of that knowledge with us all over the years.
I am glad to see him as part of the Germany story of discovering and rescuing, of these Normandy Invasion Treasure Hoods !!
The first one is over 1,000 euros, with 15 hours left.
I think worth that for sure, if I had the funds I would try to get one too !
Best Regards,
Ray

Exactly! And then some know-it-all wants to tell you about what is wrong with your application of letters, stars or anything else.W. All rather hastily and haphazardly applied in England, and yet we see every "restored" $40-50K jeep out on e-pay that has everything airbrushed and stenciled, usually perfectly aligned.
Makes me laugh about our standards of judging things 75 years on. I suppose the GI's doing it had too many vehicles to worry about neatness, and also figured no one would 'reject' a job unless it was illegible, 'the boats gotta be loaded!'.
PS: And yes, I'm 'throwing stones'... .I detailed my own stars and numbers and they were done very carefully and per the spec out of the manual with plenty of tape and fine brushes and no anticipation of having to deploy it, so I shouldn't talk .
