Excellent. You've done an amazing job, especially considering you had never welded before. Just about to do the same myself.

Is that expensive to make a single or two magnetic markings like yours?

Hi Yves
They were around £55 including shipping from Tony at Axholme
https://www.axholmesigns.co.uk/
All my stencils came from Tony who was very helpful when I miss ordered or trashed them by accident!
I plan to get another set as my brother in law is in the Royal Engineers, so I'll have set for when he visits!!

Re: MB212720 W-20306183
Some of you may have noticed that I was missing the tow hook. As I don't yet have trailer wasn't an issue but I noticed a "Nato" tow hook on ebay that looked suspiciously like a Jeep pintle so took a chance and won for a fraction of what I could have paid.. little victories..!
It was coated in layers of paint and dirt as well as being completely seized up
I did notice a little mark under all that crud..
It does have the safety pin hole drilled. I could have welded it up but left it as I may use it!
I managed to get it apart and give it the wire brush treatment
Nice "little" F mark
Now installed..
I'd rather have an MB pintle but I know these things were interchanged in the field..

Re: MB212720 20306183-S
I've not posted anything for a while and thought this may be of interest
I couldn't make it to Normandy as I wasn't sure I would have completed my rebuild by now so last night, 5th June, after work I took a trip up to Tarrant Rushton airfield that is about 10 minute drive from me.
This is where the aircraft and gliders took off from that landed at Pegasus bridge
Its a nice little spot with quite a moving memorial:

Re: MB212720 W-20306183
Thought I'd check in after what seems like an age!
Been busy, staying in Mrs OzH's good books by buying an old VW camper and restoring that for us both, really great fun..!
Also working on a trailer at the moment, British 10cwt Mortar Ammunition trailer, more on that on later....
Still loving the Jeep, had a few adventures including blowing the head gasket last summer and being returned home on the back of a breakdown truck
I'm always on the lookout for small improvements I can make. I've just purchased new front springs but not fitted them yet, I'll post some pictures of progress of that as I go
Recently found a reasonably priced Filterette for under the dash. I have had a Filterette under there but it was missing the cover..
Brand new in box, opened the box and removed the lid
How cool is this? whoever packed it put in the corner of the days newspaper!! 4th May 1952!
Well I thought that was very cool!
Any how, after all that excitement, the lid got installed.. happy days..

I'm happy to be corrected, but all the text is the right way up as well as the cable lengths meeting the in and out sides of the Filterette unit
